Courteney Cox and David Arquette are planning to adopt a child in a bid to save their marriage. The couple – who have been married for nine years and already have four-year-old daughter Coco - are desperate to add to their family but Courteney, 44, has so far been unable to fall pregnant, causing arguments between the pair. Former American Idol Clay Aiken wants another baby! Aiken is already expecting a child with his strictly business lady friend, 50-year old music producer Jaymes Foster, and they are currently working towards having another, 29-year old Aiken recently told In Touch. Apparently, they each have previously frozen eggs and sperm. 
Actress Tara Reid has checked into a rehab clinic in California, her spokesperson has confirmed. The 33-year-old “American Pie” star will spend Christmas and the New Year in the Promises Treatment Center in Malibu. It is not known what she is being treated for. Her representative, Jack Ketsoyan, tells People.com, “Tara Reid has checked herself into Promises Treatment Center. We appreciate your respect to her and her family’s privacy at this time.” A friend tells People that Reid entered Promises on Tuesday: “Her friends and family are supportive of her decision. She checked in herself — it was her decision.” 
Paula Abdul has spent the better part of the week telling anyone who would listen that she’s dissatisfied with the producers of “American Idol” and the she’s upset with Simon Cowell (“he’s like a family member you can’t get rid of”). Seems a little strange to air so much dirty laundry just weeks before the new season of “Idol” premieres, but as it turns out, Abdul might not have much reason to care about awkwardness. That’s because she’s seriously considering not going back to “Idol” at all. “Paula has a reality show on MTV (‘Rah! Paula Abdul’s Cheerleading Bowl’) and her jewelry line,” says a source close to Abdul. “She’s got no reason to put herself through the stress of the show if she doesn’t want to. She’s all but done; and given her other successes, she has no reason to be afraid about speaking out now.” An “Idol” source says that the scenario — one that includes Abdul leaving as early as the pretaped auditions — is one they’re preparing for. “Obviously we have three other judges who can carry the show, and if she leaves before the live shows, the auditions can be edited so that she’s hardly noticed.” 
The New York City apartment where Heath Ledger died has been pulled off the real estate market - after the tragic property failed to attract a tenant. The Brokeback Mountain star died of an accidental prescription drug overdose in the three-bedroom SoHo loft in January. The property was officially relisted on the rental market at a staggering $26,000 per month in late July, but letting agents have been unable to find an interested occupant. And now a source at luxury real estate firm Corcoran Group tells New York gossip column Page Six the residence is “temporarily off the market”. 
Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose has been missing for two months. The eccentric rocker has infuriated bosses at record label Geffen after disappearing without promoting the band’s long-awaited ‘Chinese Democracy’ album, which was released last week 15 years after the last Guns N’ Roses LP. “Desperate Housewives” star Nicolette Sheridan is getting over her split from Michael Bolton, reportedly by embarking on a romance with comic actor David Spade. The actress called off her engagement to Bolton in August, and has remained single since then, but a romance with Spade appears on the cards, according to reports. The pair were seen getting close at Sheridan’s 45th birthday celebrations at restaurant Luau in Los Angeles on Friday and “couldn’t resist each other for long,” reports Usmagazine.com. Winona Ryder was rushed to hospital yesterday after collapsing on a BA jet with a suspected accidental overdose of tranquillisers. Winona, 37, had her stomach pumped at a West London hospital. She was discharged last night. The waif-like star, thought to fear flying, collapsed twice in first class on ten-hour flight 282 from Los Angeles to Heathrow. It is believed she mistakenly took too many Xanax pills — used to treat anxiety. One passenger said: “She turned a deathly shade of pale. It was scary.” The Boeing 747’s captain requested a “priority landing” and touched down 22 minutes early at 11.13am. Winona, whose film successes include Dracula, was rushed to Hillingdon Hospital where she was checked in under a false name. British Airways said last night: “Our passenger services staff went with her to hospital. We wish her well.” 
Mel Gibson has slammed reports he’s divorcing his wife of 28 years after he was alleged to be cheating on her. Recent tabloid reports suggested the actor was entangled in a $900 million divorce battle with wife Robyn Moore amid allegations of infidelity. Gibson, 52, sparked rumors of an affair after he was snapped with a 28-year-old Russian singer named Oksana in September. Hugh Hefner has fuelled reports he’s facing bankruptcy after opening the doors of his infamous Playboy Mansion to the public - for a fee. Last month, Hefner was reportedly advised to dismiss employees in his Los Angeles and New York offices to avoid financial ruin. Hefner’s spokesperson Elizabeth Austin would neither confirm nor deny the financial problems at the time, stating: “It is our policy not to comment on corporate matters such as employee issues.” The Playboy boss has since extended an invitation to the exclusive parties held at the mansion, charging $5,000 to $25,000 a ticket, depending on the celebrities in attendance. Hefner, whose Playboy Enterprises owns the mansion, pays a reported $700,000 annually in rent for the pad.

Michelle Rodriguez’s fiery temper came close to causing more trouble for the star, after an alleged outburst at a Florida hotel sent sleeping guests into a frenzy. The Girlfight star was reportedly staying at the Mayfair Hotel and Spa in Coconut Grove, Florida when she is said to have awoke guests at 9am, banging on the door and screaming at her room mate. One guest tells the New York Daily News: “I woke up Sunday morning to the sounds of two women yelling, and one of them was smashing the door knocker very loudly. I peeked out and saw it was (Rodriguez). She’s screaming, ‘Open up, let me in, b**ch!’… If you don’t open up, you’re not getting your (pleasure toy) back.’” A spokesperson for Rodriguez has refused to comment on the reports. 
When Heather Locklear was arrested on suspicion of DUI and being under the influence of a controlled substance in Santa Barbara on Sept. 27, most of the talk revolved around Locklear’s mental and physical state. (Just last summer, the actress left an Arizona treatment facility after battling anxiety and depression.) Now, the buzz has shifted to who placed the 911 call that led to the arrest, and what the caller’s motivation might have been. TMZ reports that the caller was former Us Weekly staffer Jill Ishkanian, who watched a seemingly impaired Locklear get into her car and called authorities. Her next call, they claim, was to a paparazzi agency. Ishkanian couldn’t be reached for comment by deadline. Her lawyer, Nicholas Tepper, told the Associated Press that his client, who operates Sunset Photo & News, acted heroically. Ishkanian photographed Locklear’s sobriety test, then sold the pictures to TMZ for more than $27,000, Tepper told the AP. Tepper called the ensuing TMZ posts accusing Ishkanian of alerting a paparazzo to Locklear’s impending arrest “lies and innuendo,” according to AP. “Old habits die hard,” says one person who knows Ishkanian. “I don’t know if she (called the paparazzi agency) but it wouldn’t be uncommon, to say the least. It’s an ‘I’ll-scratch-your-back, you-scratch-mine’ situation.” “It’s not like Jill did anything illegal, though. Let’s not shift the focus to her.” 
Janet Jackson has been released from a Montreal, Canada hospital after she was admitted to the emergency room with a mystery illness on Monday. The R+B superstar was rushed to the Royal Victoria Hospital on Monday night, shortly before she was due to take to the stage for her latest stop on her Rock Witchu tour. The Nasty singer “got suddenly ill” during a sound check and was taken to seek medical attention. But she was discharged after a brief consultation. Rebecca Burns, spokeswoman for the McGill University Health Centre, which operates the hospital, says, “Yesterday evening she was checked into the Royal Victoria Hospital and left a couple of hours later.” The show in Montreal had to be postponed, with her representative blaming the cancellation on “production constraints”. Further details of the star’s health problems have yet to be released, although sources close to the 42 year old’s boyfriend, music producer Jermaine Dupri, claim she has been suffering from exhaustion. The insider tells People.com, “A 42-year-old body can’t handle what a 22-year-old body can. I can tell you that she’s definitely tired. It was probably exhaustion. She is doing back-to-back, three-hour shows, and her body isn’t the same as it used to be.” 
Scarlett Johansson has wed fiance Ryan Reynolds in a small, private ceremony in Canada. The couple, who has been engaged for four months, exchanged vows in Reynolds’ native country on Saturday, according to People.com. Johansson, 23, and Reynolds, 31, began dating shortly after the actor’s split from singer Alanis Morrissette last year. 
Naomi Watts reportedly lashed out at the paparazzi in Los Angeles after her repeated requests for peace were ignored. The star was roaming around Beverly Hills with close friend Rebecca Rigg - the wife of The Devil Wears Prada actor Simon Baker - when she was pursued by a group photographers. But the 39-year-old confronted the snappers when they refused to leave her alone. According to the Sydney Daily Telegraph, Watts yelled, “What do you think you’re doing to us? What the f**k do you think you are doing?” Watts then ran into a nearby building and tried to wrestle a camera from a photographer. It is not the first time Watts has confronted the paparazzi. Earlier this year, she was having lunch with partner Liev Schreiber and their son Alexander, when they argued with the surrounding press. Schreiber shoved one photographer, swore at others and chased another two down a busy road in California. 
New couple alert! Drew Barrymore and Gossip Girl star Ed Westwick were spotted “in a full-on make-out session” at a NYC concert for alt-rockers Kings of Leon Tuesday night. Westwick’s co-star Chace Crawford was also with them in the V.I.P. area at Webster Hall, but contrary to blog reports, he was not kissing Barrymore. After the concert, Barrymore, 33, and Westwick, 21, took their PDA to Bowery Electric, according to New York’s Daily Intel.
